Winner of the Sundance U.S. Documentary Grand Jury Prize, NUISANCE BEAR follows a single polar bear forced to navigate a man-made world of tourists, wildlife officers, and hunters as its ancient migration collides with modern life. When this sacred predator is branded a “nuisance” by its human neighbors, a new question arises: who truly belongs in this shared landscape? Directors Gabriela Osio Vanden and Jack Weisman seek answers through patiently observed and remarkably intimate footage of their furry subject, harnessing the power of the camera to build empathy across species and to interrogate the hierarchy that privileges human convenience over our natural environment. A MUBI release.
