A Man of His Time

This event has ended

September 1940. As the Vichy regime establishes authoritarian rule, Henri Marre (an excellent Swann Arlaud, ANATOMY OF A FALL) arrives in the South of France alone, broke, and carrying copies of his self-published manifesto, determined to secure a prominent place in the new administration. He serves the machinery of the new order to further his status, doing whatever is required to remain useful—even as his own ruin approaches. Winner of the Cannes Best Screenplay Award, writer-director Emmanuel Marre interrogates a dark chapter in his own family history to uncover the insidious cost of complicity under fascism. A 1-2 Special release.
