A Long Winter

A Long Winter · 2026 ↗117 min

In 1951, high in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, Mike’s (Fred Hechinger, THELMA) world is thrown into uncertainty when his mother (Caitríona Balfe, 'Outlander') vanishes into the wilderness. Alongside his complicated father (Ebon Moss-Bachrach, 'The Bear'), and with their small mountain community rallying together against the unforgiving winter, Mike embarks on a search that leads him toward an unexpected journey of self-discovery. HIFF alum Andrew Haigh (ALL OF US STRANGERS, 2023) delivers a deeply moving adaptation of Colm Tóibín’s (BROOKLYN) short story of the same name that exquisitely captures the need for belonging and the quiet strength required to carry on. A MUBI release.
