Rehearsals for a Revolution

This event has ended

Winner of the Best Documentary prize in Cannes, filmmaker and actress Pegah Ahangarani draws from personal archives, home videos, street protest footage, newspapers, sketches, and recorded voices to interweave her own life story with Iran’s struggle for freedom. Through five chapters following relatives and mentors who each provide distinct expressions of resistance, she seeks to understand more than 40 years of Iran's recent history—from the 1978 Revolution through the war that began in 2026. Ahangarani reassembles personal and collective memory to shape the portrait of a country marked by political repression and in constant hope for revolution. A Sony Pictures Classics release.
