The Golden Swan

This event has ended

In 1995, when Norwegian artist Hans Christian Ostrø travels to India in search of meaning and artistic growth, he is abducted and killed in Kashmir by the militant group al-Faran. Thirty years after his tragic death, his sister, director Anette Ostrø, reconstructs her brother’s last weeks in captivity from letters and poems that he secretly wrote to her during that time. Found on his body after his execution, these powerful texts become foundational in bridging the past and present. THE GOLDEN SWAN strikingly captures a unique moment in global politics through deeply personal reflections on forgiveness, fear, and courage.
