Five friends. Five lives. Countless hopes. Growing up in public housing in Birmingham, England, childhood friends Patrick, Shiv, Rian, Oli, and Conor played together, skipped school, and dreamt of the lives they would have one day. But as they hit thirty, harsh reality bites, and the futures they once hoped for seem more out of reach than ever. Supported by an unforgettable ensemble cast including Joe Cole ('Peaky Blinders') and Daryl McCormack ('Bad Sisters'), HIFF alum Clio Barnard (THE SELFISH GIANT, 2013) returns with this stirring portrait of a collective striving for a better life, and the friendships needed to endure along the way.
