Edward Said: Between Worlds

Edward Said: Between Worlds · 2026 ↗107 min

Twenty years after his death, renowned Palestinian-American scholar, intellectual, and activist Edward Said is given voice through sweeping archival footage and recordings to recount the untold history of Palestine. In the first documentary made with full access to the Said family and estate, director Maiken Baird (VENUS AND SERENA, HIFF 2012) traces his political awakening, personal struggles, and lifelong reckoning with exile across seven decades. Equal parts spellbinding and urgent, EDWARD SAID: BETWEEN WORLDS unearths never-before-seen family archives, home movies, television appearances, lectures, and rare materials from Columbia University, to ask who has the right to tell their own story.
