When a schoolteacher (Academy Award® nominee Amanda Seyfried) in an abusive marriage takes a job leading creative writing classes at a maximum security prison, she begins to fall for a charismatic inmate (Scoot McNairy, 'Furious'). The consequences call into question not only the nature of punishment and retribution, but the very limits of our humanity. Written, directed by, and co-starring Tim Blake Nelson, THE LIFE AND DEATHS OF WILSON SHEDD crafts a deeply empathetic and unflinching examination of incarceration, the death penalty, and the transcendent power of connection, powered by heart-wrenching performances from its stellar cast.
