La Bola Negra
Saturday, October 10 · 1:30 – 4:14 PM
East Hampton UA3 · Regal UA East Hampton Cinema, 30 Main St, East Hampton, NY 11937
Cannes Best Director winners Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi craft a transformative epic following three generations of men across pivotal moments in Spanish history, bound by pain, desire, and love. Carlos (Milo Quifes) longs to belong in a fractured 1930s Spain. Sebastián (Guitarricadelafuente) finds connection across enemy lines under the violent Franco regime. Today, Alberto (Carlos González) uncovers a long-buried family secret that finally gives voice to truths the past tried to erase. Picking up the fragments of Federico García Lorca’s unfinished play of the same name, LA BOLA NEGRA embraces lush, sweeping visuals to breathe life into forgotten queer histories obscured by time. A Netflix release.
