this movie is so well known yet I will be another person to say that this is a masterpiece I went to a screening with like 6 people and sat there in complete silence in the middle of the night with my jaw DEADASS ON THE FLOOR All of my readings from liberal studies are actually making sense now. All the biblical references and indra’s net concept of connectedness and togetherness? Actually a masterpiece. Kaneda standing over Tetsuo with a rock? I think that was the most memorable moments of the movie for me. Beautiful, nerve racking, and yet so full of hope. The guy from the row ahead of me was right — I have not seen something like this ever before. This was so much better than Evangelion and Ghost in the shell combined together.
